Hydropower
HR Goel Group is proud to contribute to the development of hydropower in Nepal, a country with vast potential for hydropower resources. We are dedicated to supporting the government’s objective of generating 10,000 MW of hydroelectricity by 2030. Investing in hydropower projects not only generates electricity but also creates employment opportunities for economically disadvantaged people in remote areas, thereby improving their standard of living.
Currently, we are involved in two major hydropower projects aimed at enhancing the country’s energy security and promoting sustainable economic growth. These projects include the Upper Balephi Hydropower Project (46MW) and Surke Dudhkoshi Hydropower Project (188MW).
The Upper Balephi Hydropower Project (46MW) is currently under construction and expected to commence operations by the end of 2026.
Additionally, we are developing the Surke Dudhkoshi Hydropower Project under Summit Power Company, a 188 MW project currently in the study phase. This project holds immense potential for clean energy generation and economic growth in the region.
HR Goel Group is committed to making its hydropower projects successful by leveraging cutting-edge technology, adopting sustainable practices, and promoting local participation. We ensure that our projects adhere to the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental sustainability. We prioritize community engagement and work closely with local stakeholders to ensure that the benefits of hydropower development are shared equitably.
